The new financial management
In July 2001 the Foundation completed a full and rigorous survey of its holdings. It was valued to approximately 180 million euros. Consequently the Foundation decided to start a new policy in order to rigorously select sources of income and ensure the productivity of the capital. Thereafter, the Foundation sold off parts of the estate and initiated a series of investments in order to stabilize and gain profit from all parts of endowment.
The goal has been reached; in three years, the total value of the assets has grown significantly and has reached a value of over 200 million euros, even after grants totaling over 10 millions euros to the Institute. Financial solidity enables the Institute and the Foundation to have optimistic attitudes toward the future and toward the ambitious projects that have been undertaken.
