The funding of the Giannina Gaslini Institute
The objective of the Foundation is to support the Giannina Gaslini Institute of Genoa.
The Foundation funds the medical and scientific activities as well as the structural necessities of the Institute. This support is essential in order to maintain its independence, strengthen its structures and ensure the progress of its research.
The program
In recent years the funding of the Institute by the Foundation has been regulated by an agreement subscribed to by both parties. This document is used to decide to which activities of the Institute the Foundation will direct its investments. The agreement allows the Foundation to give consistent support to the Institute as its needs arise. During 2004 the Foundation granted approximately 7 million euros to the Institute.
The Foundation in favor of the Institute: new projects and institutional alliances
The changes in development, the opening towards the Mediterranean, the need for new structures: these are the new prospective of the Gaslini Institute. New opportunities and new challenges in which the Foundation supports the hospital with institutional alliances, agreements, planning new structures, like the area of Castagna, and promoting training and cooperation (Gaslini International).
