Villa Quartara, a training area
The first outcome of the restoration is the restoration of Villa Quartara. The first floor has been completely restored rigorously respecting the original design. Amid decorations and stuccos we now find modern classrooms, services for students and study halls. During the last two years, national and international training courses organized by S.I.S.P. (International School of Paediatric Science) have been held here.
The new laboratory building and the green area
The new building for research will be a modern glass and iron structure, partially interred and aesthetically placed in the environment. It will be the heart of the research activities of the Gaslini Institute. This structure will allow all the main laboratories to be grouped in one area and to be supplied with new technical equipment. This will allow cooperation among researchers and promote knowledge. Additionally the park that surrounds the building with its gardens and trees will be restored.
