The Benedictine Abbey for new reception
The Benedictine Abbey is a large modern building (erected in 1958) located next to the Villa. It will be radically restored with particular emphasis given to the renovation of the interior spaces. The Abbey will be used primarily for the reception of the children and their families. It will be developed as a multipurpose space, with rehabilitation areas, spaces for playing and studying, a refectory as well as other necessary services for the families of patients.
With this venture the Gaslini Institute will be able to offer accommodation to patients from other regions, the majority of patients in the hospital.
