A fund for child health care
Throughout the Mediterranean area and South-Eastern Europe many children still cannot obtain high quality specialized health care.
The Rotating fund enables some of them to be treated at the Gaslini. The Fund was founded in 2002, with the agreement of all regional authorities. It's funded by the Foundation, the Liguria region, and private donations. A specific commission consisting of doctors of the Institute is in charge of selecting which cases to help. The Gaslini Foundation ensures coverage of hospital treatment and accommodation.
In its second year, also thanks to 100000 euro donated by the Regional Council, the Fund treated 81 cases of children affected by serious diseases, especially orthopaedic and heart related illnesses.

| How we use donations |
|
In 2003/2004, thanks to the Rotating fund and thanks to donations from citizens, the Gaslini Institute treated 81 children from 15 different countries for a total expense of 820.000 euros for assistance and 80.000 for family accommodation.
