The Mediterranean Institute for Children
The MedChild Foundation - Mediterranean Institute for Childhood, was born with a specific goal: to permit children of the Mediterranean to grow and realise their full capacity as persons. This is an explicit aim of the Convention on th Rights of the Child which the Foundation is inspired by.
The Foundation operates throughout the entire Mediterranean region, from the EU to North Africa and the Middle East up to the Black Sea. Its primary area of intervention is, of course, health care, an area where the Gaslini Institute is an international example of excellence. The Foundation has important international allies, such as the Liguria Region, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, l'Institut de la Mediterranée of Marseille, the Arab Urban Development Institute, the European Union and the World Bank.
