Gaslini International
Gaslini International is an extensive program of cooperation promoted by the Gerolamo Gaslini Foundation.
Gaslini International intends to improve pediatric medicine in Mediterranean countries and throughout South-East Europe. It is intended to establish a network between the Gaslini and the other hospitals in the Mediterranean area. Through this collaborative effort among hospitals, common pediatric programs may be developed:
- research programs;
- traditional and remote training for doctors and nurses;
- specific initiatives for the development of the organization;
- remote assistance for all phases of hospital activities (from diagnosis to treatment and surgery);
- treatment at the Gaslini for the most difficult cases, until the partner institutes' structures reach adequate development.
The first agreements have been made with:
- Fundeni Clinic in Bucarest;
- ANSMI (National Society to Aid Italian Missionaries);
- the Repubblic of Libia (particularly the Tripoli Medical Center);
- partnerships with pediatric hospitals in Iraq by sending medical personnel to Iraq and receiving Iraqi patients in Genoa.
